The Devinci Milano Altus, unlike most bikes designed in California (for weekend warriors on perpetually sunny bike paths), is designed for the the potholes, streetcar tracks and dodgy pavements on the way there. With a tough aluminum frame and wheels to make a touring bike envious, the Milano Altus may be a mere touch heavier than the Trek next door, but it's not apologizing - it's designed for Canada.
The Devinci Milano Altus' Hybrid Aluminum frame combines the lightweight and agile characteristics of a road bike with the comfort and control of a mountain bike. The chromoly fork provides shock absorption on rougher streets. Couple that with a reliable drivetrain, lightweight wheels, and this is a bike that will take you from Monday through Sunday looking as good as you ride.

What's the difference between the Milano Altus and the Milano Acera?
As you move up the Devinci line you buy more distance and speed. You also get a slightly lighter bike. The Milano Altus has 3x7 gear system (21 speeds) while the Milano Acera has 3x8 system (24 speeds). But these three extra gears add a ton more range. The Milano Acera's 21% more gear range is on the speedier side. So if your pace is leisurely go for the Milano Altus. But, if you enjoy a longer ride, more speed and greater gear range, the Milano Acera is for you. The Milano Acera is also a bit lighter since it uses an aluminum rather than chromoly steel fork.
Is this bike good for riding in the city?
Being from Quebec, Devinci knows the urban Canadian cyclist very well. Unlike many other hybrids on the market, Devinci makes bikes that are as great for recreational rides as they are for inner-city use. Compared to their competition, a Devinci’s frame and wheels are stronger, many parts are rust-resistant, and the tires feature a puncture resistant Kevlar layer. However, if you’re looking for all-season bike we recommend something with an internal gear hub.
This bike is aluminum, will it dent easily?
Nope! Devinci is Canadian and the city cyclist is well on their radar. Whereas most hybrid bikes are made for Sunday rides and stops at the ice-cream stand, Devinci’s feature a tough frame that can be locked next to steel poles all day while you’re at work (or grabbing an ice-cream!)
Will this bike rust?
Heck no! The great thing about Aluminum frames is that they can’t rust.
The wheels are quick release, how do I prevent theft?
Alas, most bikes sold in North America assume that you will someday put your bike into a car, which means you need to rapidly disassemble it. If your bike is your car, then you’re often left wondering why the wheels are so easy to steal. We recommend bolting the wheels on with a wheel lock system, either from Pitlock (which feature unique keys) or 49N (which use a non-standard tool).
How do I ensure my new bike won’t get stolen?
Estimates are that over 90% of bicycle theft is tied to cash-for-drugs and this (unfortunately) makes every bike a target. Make sure you buy a good U-lock or a chain and your bike will be safe. You can read more about bike theft here.
What’s the warranty?
Lifetime warranty for manufacturer defects on frame and fork, one year on parts. Does not include wear and tear.
