Class 1 and Class 2 electric bikes are legal for use on Canadian roads and many mixed use paths. Class 1 E-assist bikes only deliver power when the pedals are being turned (sometimes referred to as a pedelec or pedal assist), whereas Class 2 throttle powered e-bikes can move without pedalling, like a motorcycle. We only sell class 1 e-assist bikes at Curbside, which means you’re still pedalling but with a wind-at-your-back feel! With all our e-assist bikes, you choose the level of assistance you get: from a gentle boost to help you keep your stamina, to major help going up those hills. Don't think of it as taking over your usual rides, but helping you do more with them!

500Wh, 85Nm, what do the numbers mean? Battery power is represented in watt hours(Wh). The more watt hours your bike has, the bigger your battery is, the longer it will last, and the more kms you can log on a single charge. Newton metres are a measurement of the torque the motor produces. Basically, the more Newton metres the motor has, the faster accelerating and more powerful the bike will feel. For example, e-cargo bikes that are pushing a heavy load, benefit from a higher newton metre motor.

We carry E-assist bikes from Riese and Muller, Cube, Brompton, Urban Arrow, and Winther.
