Replacement Brompton DR Cable Anchorage & Spring Set. This is fitted to all 2-speed and 6-speed bikes and mounts on the chainstay under your chain. Its purpose is to pull the derailleur back down to the lower position when you change gear.

There are two types available, Pre-2017 for the older shifters found on bikes made anytime in and before 2016, and New-2017 for Brompton's new integrated shifters found on all new Brompton bikes made after 2017.

The spring can lose tension over time or get clogged up, and it is worth replacing every few years when doing a cable replacement to ensure smooth shifting. Also, if you are upgrading an older Brompton to the newer integrated shifters, then this will need changing.
