New Design

The most noticeable changes are the addition of a suspension fork and the bigger internal box. The suspension smooths out the ride and helps you feel more confident navigating the city streets. Instead of swerving to avoid that pot hole and risk losing control, you can feel comfortable rolling over any potential obstacle in the bike lane with far less impact to rider and passengers alike.

The redesigned box is not larger in footprint than the original Urban Arrow box, however it's got a wider internal seating area so side-by-side passengers don't get too cramped. Seats are lower which improves balance for rider and passengers, and allows for a slightly reclined back rest for a more comfortable ride to wherever the bike takes you.

Safe

As always, the Urban Arrow uses lightweight EPS foam(the same impact resistant material found in bicycle helmets) for the cargo box resulting in a distinctive, lightweight and super safe cargo area. Inside the box you find sturdy seats and 3 point harnesses. The bike's low centre of gravity and comfortable upright riding position result in a stable but maneuverable bike that offers the rider a great view of the street.

What is this “Enviolo” system?

Enviolo is a company that makes a super wide-range internal gear hub that is 'infinitely variable,' meaning you can roll the shifter forwards and backwards and there are no 'clicks' for gears. That means you can find the perfect gear for any terrain by twisting the shifter to exactly where you want it. It's a low maintenance and sealed system, awesome.

What is the maintenance like?

Very low! Because the Urban Arrow uses internal gears and low maintenance disc brakes the intervals between tune-ups are increased. We recommend air in the tires every three weeks.

Can I put a car seat inside?

You sure can. Urban Arrow makes a great Maxi Cosi adaptor that bolts to the bottom of the box (which features suspension to reduce strain) and is compatible with many car seats.

Can I add more seats?

You sure can! Urban Arrow makes an extra bench that installs easily, bringing the kid count from two to three!

How long does it take to charge the battery?

It takes up to five hours to charge the battery from flat to full, and there is no problem if you only charge the battery a little bit, halfway, or whatever. Bosch themselves suggest you should get 1500 complete charge cycles with the battery, which is typically 5+ years of use before a replacement is required.
