In 1946 the grandfather of current Achielle owners, Tom and Peter, started a bike shop in Zwevezele, belgium. From the beginning he produced his own frames, eventually expanding to manufacture frames for many other brands. Seventy years later, Peter & Tom, now make bicycles bearing his name and face together with their father Jan and some loyal employees.
The aesthetic inspiration for Achielle bicycles stems from the early 20th century and is combined with current technological advances. What makes Achielle truly unique is that their steel frames are still produced in house. From pulling and cutting tubes to painting the frame to completing the assembly it all happens in their Belgian factory.
