Available Positions

Our goal every day is to get people riding bikes, ideally in a friendly, fun, and judgement-free environment. We welcome those who don’t necessarily consider themselves “cyclists” and encourage them to find the bike or gear that best suits their needs. A friendly face can make all the difference to someone who’s nervous about entering a bike shop.

Your Responsibilities
As a member of our sales staff, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers. You’ll provide friendly service and help them find what they’re looking for, whether that’s a new bike, a specific part or accessory, or general shop information. Some of your daily duties will include:

  • Maintaining the sales floor (stocking, merchandising, and cleaning)
  • Processing purchases, returns, and exchanges
  • Supporting the mechanics with repair pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Handling online order pickups
  • Installing basic bike accessories (bells, lights, etc.)
  • Answering phones, returning voicemails, and assisting with store email
  • Opening and closing procedures

Your Requirements
Our ideal salesperson enjoys cycling (or at least an active lifestyle). You must be able to thrive in a busy retail environment and juggle a few tasks at once. Some personal character traits we value include:

  • Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Tidiness and organization
  • A sense of humour!

While we do require someone with retail/sales experience, if you haven’t sold bikes before, that’s okay! We’ll provide the knowledge you need to help people find their first bike—or their fifth. If this sounds like you, please apply!

We may seem like a quiet little shop in the Annex, but our online store makes up nearly half our sales—and we ship a lot of those orders outside Toronto. For instance, our “Ride Out of the Box” service requires packaging up complete bikes (including massive cargo bikes) and shipping them all over North America! Ambitious? Yeah, you could say that.

Your Responsibilities
Of course, you’ll be picking, packing, and shipping out orders, but you’ll also learn about our products, best shipping practices, and handling customs and duties. Full disclosure: this is a pretty action-packed gig. You'll be running between all four floors picking and packing, and you’ll need to be able to lift some heavy boxes from time to time (at least 50 pounds)—it can be a workout!

Your Requirements
We ask that you join us for a (paid) trial period of up to a week, so we can assess your skills, and your fit on the team. Shipping experience isn't necessary, but you must be able to work under pressure and be highly detail oriented: this position requires someone who dots their I's and crosses their T's, so to speak. If this sounds like you, please apply!

Keeping our customers safely on the road requires a group of qualified service staff: mechanics who value quality work, and take their craft seriously. We’re currently hiring any and all levels of bike mechanic, but of urgent need is a mechanic who can start with simple jobs like bike assembly, flat tires, and accessory installation.

Your Responsibilities
Our mechanics are a diverse bunch who, in turn, service the most diverse array of bikes in the country. One day, you’re working on a highly proprietary Brompton folding bike; the next, running diagnostics on a Bosch electric assist motor; the next, tuning the steering mechanism of a Dutch cargo bike—all while fixing a bunch of standard bikes in between. You'll also be fixing lots of flat tires, assembling new bikes, and installing accessories. Of course, this all depends on your skill level.

Your Requirements
First and foremost, we require someone with experience. That could mean prior experience at a bike shop, or working at local co-ops like Bike Pirates or Bike Chain. Second, we require someone with strong diagnostic skills: in other words, someone who knows when it's best to fix or replace a part. Also, you have to know when to ask for help (humility is most definitely a virtue). Finally, we require serious efficiency from our mechanics. We can work to develop your speed through a process-approach to bike repair, but you need to have the smarts, the skills, and most of all, the disposition. If this sounds like you, please apply!
