Hailed as the best folding bike in the world, in 1975, in the bedroom of his flat overlooking the Brompton Oratory, a young engineer, Andrew Ritchie invented a bike with an ingenious 3-part fold. Brompton was born and Andrew and his team have been refining and perfecting their folding bike design ever since. With the longest wheel base and the most compact fold, Brompton achieves the ‘impossible’ and is at home on any road as much as it is packed into a crowded train. Today Brompton represents and realises the paragon of folding bike design and a vision for cities of the future, where mutli-modal commuting is esteemed and our infrastructure works as a whole.
