In 1975, a young engineer named Andrew Ritchie, in his flat overlooking the Brompton Oratory, invented a bike with an ingenious 3-part fold: the Brompton was born. Since then, Brompton have been refining and perfecting their folding bike design. With the longest wheel base and the most compact fold, Brompton achieves the "impossible", and is at home on any road as much as it is folded up and packed onto a crowded train.
