TI PARTS WORKSHOP
CRANK BOLTS - TITANIUM
The Ti Parts Workshop Titanium Crank Bolts on the face of it do not seem too exiting but have a dual purpose. As well as keeping your cranks firmly on, they also quite ingeniously remove the crank without the use of a separate and expensive crank extractor tools.
The crank bolts themselves are CNC machined out of aerospace grade Ti-6AL-4V Titanium, the threaded covers are CNC machined from 7075 Aluminum and are supplied with two hard nylon bushes that sit between them both.
First you install the Titanium bolt tightly, then the Nylon bushing and finally screw in the threaded cover tightly which creates a dust and waterproof seal for your crank. When the time comes that you want to remove the crank you simply unscrew the Titanium bolt which then pushes against the threaded cover and pushes the crank off the bottom bracket tool free.
Not just a pretty face.
