CADENT i8 - 2017
The Raleigh Cadent i8 has been a Curbside favourite for a number of years and the 2017 model is no different. It has lightweight custom formed 6061 Aluminum frame with a Carbon Fork for speed and comfort. In the back there's a massive range of gears with the Shimano Alfine 8 eight speed hub. This is coupled with a Gates Carbon Belt Drive that can run 30,000 km (!!!! wow !!!) of grease-free riding without replacement. Combine this with a set of Shimano M395 Hydraulic Disc Brakes and you have freeze-free, low maintenance stopping power for all seasons. It's light, it's super fast, it's low maintenance and its priced remarkably well.
There are few bikes we sell that can truly function as an all-out city bike and recreational bike - but this can easily. The gear range, lightweight frame and performance position give you the ingredients you need for a longer speed-oriented fitness ride. There are also few bikes that can do this plus function perfectly in all seasons, but this bike can. The hydraulic brakes, internal gear hub and belt drive all contribute to the perfect all-season bike.
So, whether you're a year-round city cyclist who wants to ride longer distances in your time off or a commuter cyclist who rides longer distances to work, this bike pretty much does it all without compromise. A quick survey of the competition reveals that there are very few bikes like this, and if they do exist, they cost about twice as much, or more.
