BENNO COMPANY PROFILE: While Benno has only been around since 2015, German-born founder Benno Baenziger is certainly no stranger to the cycling industry. Since his days as a founder of Electra Bicycle Company right to modern times, the industry veteran has dedicated his life and business to finding new ways to reinvent bike design to both inspire and empower the rider. Benno bikes are a reflection of this vision - their geometry is unlike most "traditional" bikes, allowing riders to plant their feet more securely, and Benno is a firm believer in the incredible power of e-assist technology, flattening hills, lightening loads and shortening distances. While much of the industry ignores the needs of everyday riders to push their own ideas, Benno bikes are made to serve that rider. Agile, comfortable and just downright fun, Benno bikes are built to keep the everyday rider wanting to ride everyday.

Yep, there are a TON of options that mount to the Benno! From front racks to rear racks to surfboard carriers!

Can I store it outside?

You sure can! The Benno has an aluminum frame so it can't rust but you do want to make sure the exposed gearing system is kept clean.

What is the maintenance like?
Unlike most EU cargo bikes, the Benno uses external gears (derailleurs and chain without a cover) so it does require yearly adjustment of the gears.

Can I put a childseat on the back?

Yes. The Benno rear rack accepts YEPP child seats with a simple click!

This is expensive! Will it get stolen?

Estimates are that over 90% of bicycle theft is tied to cash-for-drugs and this (unfortunately) makes every bike a target. Make sure you buy a good U-lock or a chain and your bike will be safe. You can read more about bike theft here.

What’s the warranty?

Lifetime warranty for manufacturer defects on frame and fork, one year on parts. Does not include wear and tear.
