The Brooks Team Pro straddles the line between sport and comfort cycling, embodying a sort of diplomatic alliance between the two disciplines and delivering luxurious comfort while doing so.  Having been in production for over half a century, tracing its roots back to the old B17 Competition. This saddle knows full well how to make an impression as a timeless classic.

Its pleasingly simple design in thick bridle leather with a strip of exposed suede adding subtle contrast, a precisely embossed title on the side, and large hand-hammered copper rivets connecting the upper to the rails, the Team Pro is sure to make arriving at any destination feel like crossing the finish line.

Breaking in a Brooks Saddle: Brooks saddles are made of thick, high quality leather. Like an excellent pair of shoes, the saddle molds to your individual body shape after a certain period of use, between 150-800km depending on the quality of the leather, (the select range uses much higher quality leather). After the comfort is second to none! **We recommend applying Brooks Proofide onto the top and underside of your saddle every few weeks from new to help it break in and mold to your shape much faster.

Caring for your Brooks Saddle: Just like a pair of leather shoes, Brooks saddles have to be treated once or twice a year with Brooks Proofide, a mix of natural oils, which keeps the saddle from drying out. All Brooks saddles have the ability to tighten (stretch) the leather as it sags. Tightening the leather keeps the saddle feeling like new for years to come. Brooks saddles are not waterproof so we recommend keeping them covered in wet conditions. If the bicycle is stored outside, using a Brooks Waterproof Saddle Cover will protect your saddle in even the harshest of showers.

Brooks England History: Brooks England was founded in 1866 by John Boultbee Brooks, originally to manufacture leather harnesses and tackle for horses. Legend has it that the death of Mr. Brooks’ horse prompted him to seek alternative transportation, trying out the recent two-wheeled invention, the bicycle. He fell in love but found the wooden saddle excruciating. He vowed to make it more comfortable and so the Brooks leather saddle was born.

Today Brooks manufacture a wide range of bicycle accessories from backpacks, bicycle panniers and saddle bags to helmets, poncho’s and wallets and to this day all Brooks Leather Saddles are still hand made by skilled craftspeople using traditional methods in Birmingham, England and the fundamental design of the saddles is unchanged. While the new Cambium range, helmets and bags are all made in Italy.
