BOOST E 10D - BOSCH PERFORMANCE
The Benno Boost E is far from your average cargo bike. A testament to continuous innovation, the Boost is equal parts practical and outright fun, empowering and impressing on the go. The Benno Boost E is a "longtail" cargo bike - while most cargo bikes inspire images of massive boxes and elongated front-ends, these designs just aren't for everyone. The longtail design is perfect for riders who want something a little more intuitive and agile who still need a little extra space, whether it's for an extra child seat or loading up for the next big adventure.
The Boost E boasts a stiff, lightweight aluminium frame with a fairly upright geometry making for a comfortable riding experience while the 250W (500W peak wattage); 63Nm Bosch Performance motor unit gives ample assistance ideal for the urban rider. 24 inch wheels sporting massive 2.6 inch tires gives the Boost E not only agile maneuverability, but comfort and sure-footedness for any terrain. Touch it up with an elongated wheelbase and the awesome Shimano Deore 10 speed gears, and you have the Boost - uncompromising, be it a commitment to comfort or versatile performance.
A favourite for families, urban explorers, couriers, everyday urban riders and even professional rescue teams, the Boost E is ready to take you anywhere you need, whether it's around the block or on the journey of your dreams.

What's the difference between a European cargo bike and a "long tail"?
Good question! Without a doubt, the EU option is safer since the kids are in a special box designed to withstand impacts up to 40km. As a North American invention, 'longtails' are not subject to the same testing. However, a long tail is significantly safer than a regular bike with a child seat as the longer wheelbase displaces load over more area, the centre of gravity is lower (especially on Benno, with its wide 24" wheels) and the bike can sustain weights much heavier than the average child seat can. The great thing about a long tail is how it rides: it's as close as possible to a regular bike.
Will this take up a lot of space on the road?
The great thing about a long tail is that they are no wider than a regular bike, you won't take up any room at all!
It looks like there is a ton of plug-and-play options
Yep, there are a TON of options that mount to the Benno! From front racks to rear racks to surfboard carriers!
Can I store it outside?
You sure can! The Benno has an aluminum frame so it can't rust but you do want to make sure the exposed gearing system is kept clean.
What is the maintenance like?
Unlike most EU cargo bikes, the Benno uses external gears (derailleurs and chain without a cover) so it does require yearly adjustment of the gears.
Can I put a childseat on the back?
Yes. The Benno rear rack accepts YEPP child seats with a simple click!
This is expensive! Will it get stolen?
Estimates are that over 90% of bicycle theft is tied to cash-for-drugs and this (unfortunately) makes every bike a target. Make sure you buy a good U-lock or a chain and your bike will be safe. You can read more about bike theft here.
What’s the warranty?
Lifetime warranty for manufacturer defects on frame and fork, one year on parts. Does not include wear and tear.
