2021 promises to be another crazy year in the bike industry. Like everyone else, we have been forced to change and adapt the way we do business as the COVID-19 pandemic has been evolving the way we live in our communities on a daily basis.

Along with Councillor Mike Layton, Curbside was one of the partners who successfully lobbied the Ontario government to ensure Bicycle Repairs were listed as an essential service. This meant that not only could we keep our business open to continue serving the Toronto cycling community, but we could continue to employ and support our amazing mechanics and sales staff.

For the benefit and safety of our staff we have changed our opening hours, reducing the risk of contact with the public. All bicycle sales and repairs are by appointment only (see the menu bar above). For accessory or parts sales we've set up a special area in the front of our store with one customer permitted at a time. This ensures we can keep tight control on who is in the shop, ensuring healthy distance.

The website will continue to be open 24/7 and we have lowered our free shipping threshold to just $50.

It can be hard to stay positive in a crisis. The way we plan to persevere at Curbside is by pedalling our way through it, literally. We like the idea of healthy distancing. For us, cycling offers a healthy distance from the world’s problems, it puts a healthy distance in our legs, and it allows us to stay social, while keeping a healthy distance from others. During and after this crisis, we hope you can stay safe, pedal through and find your own healthy distance.

New Opening Hours

Our new limited opening hours will help reduce the risk of exposure for all our sales staff and mechanics ensuring we can stay open and deliver the essential services you need to keep you mobile and healthy.

Bicycle Sales By Appointment Only

We have re-arranged our entire sales floor to an online appointment system. While this pushes the limits of our software, but now you can shop safely, minimizing social contact. You can book a number of specialist sales appointments from home. We can call you on the Telephone, Video Chat using Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, Facetime or WhatsApp or book an in-store sales appointment safe in the knowledge you will be the only one in the store and so safe from harm. (We will only be letting one person or couple into the store at any time). Cycling is all about putting a healthy distance in your legs and a healthy distance from the world - we want to keep that healthy distance while you shop too.

New Walk In Policy

Not everything requires an appointment though. Maybe you just need a new bell, new security lock or just need a new inner tube to keep riding? Well don’t worry, we are still here for you. Just knock on the front door and a member of staff will happily walk you into our new accessories section at the very front of our store. Only one customer permitted at a time.

New In-Store Policies

At the behest of the Ontario government, Toronto city council and our own good conscience, we have implemented some House Rules! These must always be adhered to for everyone’s safety

  • In-store appointments only - No Appointment = No Entry
  • Wash Your Hands - Please wash or disinfect your your hands before your appointment
  • Please wear a mask while in the store
  • No handshakes - A smile will do nicely
  • Social Distancing - Please try and keep 6 feet away from others around you at all times
  • No Touching - Ask before you touch so we can keep things clean for the next person
  • Only one person, couple or small family in the store at any one time
  • Parents and caregivers are responsible for ensuring children follow all shop policies
  • If you are sick or feeling unwell - STAY HOME
  • If you do cough or sneeze - Cover your mouth & nose with your elbow or tissue and wash your hands
  • Credit or Debit ONLY - No Cash
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry or expel anyone who we feel is putting our staff at risk

Repair Pick-Ups & Drop Offs

Due to seasonal changes, we ask that you bring your bike to the back of the store. Access is the alley off of Howland or Brunswick. If the door is closed, give it a knock (there is a Curbside sign so you know which door!).

Repair Appointments

All repair appointments, including small repairs can and should be booked online. We simply ask for a $10 deposit which will be taken off your final repair bill. Please select the tune-up you feel is right as this allocates your bike to the proper specialist and add cleaning if your bike is dirty.
