The Babboe City extra bench gives you the option of carrying up to four small children in the front box. The bench is installed facing forward which means that all passengers are facing the same direction like they are in their own little bus! Constructed in the same great way as the Babboe box using marine grade plywood and supplied with two extra 3-point harnesses and a backrest for safety and comfort. You might need to see a professional mechanic for installation as some drilling is required, but once installed you’ll have the carpool cargo bike of the neighbourhood!

Does the Extra Bench require any special tools for installation?

Yes. Four holes need to be drilled into each side panel. A drill guide is supplied with the bench though so there is no guess work.

If I am drilling the box will it rot?

No. the box is pressure treated to prevent rot although we do recommend putting a dab of varnish inside the holes once you drill them to seal the box and prevent de-laminating

Is the box permanent or removable?

The bench is secured as a permanent fixture so can not be taken out without uninstalling it so if you need extra space you need a bigger bike!
