Curbside's Statement Regarding COVID-19

COVID-19 UPDATE - JANUARY 27, 2021
As an essential business, Curbside Cycle continues to serve the community throughout the COVID-19 lockdown.
The entire staff team has personally committed to maintaining all recommendations made by the province at work and outside the shop at home, including limiting social interactions with people outside our households, wearing a mask in public spaces, and proper hand and surface sanitation. We regularly clean high-touch surfaces in the shop including countertops, pinpads, phones, computers, and door handles. Hand sanitizer is always available for use as you enter or exit the store - please use it to protect our staff and other customers.
We accept walk-ins for in-person accessory purchases, online order pick-ups, and repaired bike pick-ups only. We have built a small cordoned-off waiting area at the front of the store for walk-in service. Please knock during business hours and we will meet you at the door. We are limiting capacity to one person or couple in store at a time - please wait outside until the person/group inside has left before entering. If you want to buy a bike, please book a sales appointment (see below). Please do not visit us if you are showing any symptoms of illness, COVID or otherwise!
If you want to speak to us about buying a new bike please book a sales appointment on our website. You have the choice of an in-store appointment or a remote appointment (we will connect with you via video-chat or phone call).
Only one person or couple are permitted in the store at a time and we ask that you don't touch anything without asking first. Please do not make an appointment if you are showing any symptoms of illness, COVID or otherwise!
To maintain mechanic capacity at the shop and ensure repairs are done in a timely manner, we have moved to an appointment-based system. Book a repair appointment for all sorts of repairs (from small jobs to total overhaul) on our website.
During winter, we ask that you bring your bike to the front store entrance - our mechanic will meet you at the door, do a diagnostic, and give you a payment quote before bringing your bike in for service. Disinfect your grips, brake levers, shifters, saddle and main tubes before drop off. If there is a line-up outside, please maintain social distance while waiting to be served. Please do not make an appointment if you are showing any symptoms of illness, COVID or otherwise!

We have at least one staff member monitoring the website during business hours to provide live-chat assistance - look for the green "Live help is online" button at the bottom of your screen. We are always available by phone - if the person you're calling to speak with is unavailable, we will take a message and have them call you as soon as they're able.
REDUCED ONLINE SHIPPING COSTS
This was already in the works before the crisis, but all parts and accessories (not bikes!) now ship free for orders over $50.

Over five years ago we launched our Ride Out Of The Box program, which delivers a professionally tuned and ready-to-ride bike right to your front door. Just open the box, cut some straps, and ride away. Even cargo bikes! We've shipped over 100 bikes this way, from Labrador City to Louisiana, and we'd love to get you on a bike too!

As the COVID-19 virus remains at critical levels we are committed to proactive health for staff and customers. In order to maintain social distance and keep ourselves and our community safe, we are open for business on an appointment basis only. Staff will be on hand Tuesday - Friday 11am-7pm and Saturdays 12pm-5pm. Please call or email with any inquiries.
Cycling is a healthy way to manage social distancing and health officials have recommended that ‘staying at home’ includes getting outside and staying active. But, we also know that a bicycle is a critical transportation tool and we want to keep you riding, whether that means a bicycle repair or a brand new bicycle, cargo bike, e-bike, or folding bike.
Finally, staying healthy as a business is also important, and we are deeply concerned about the impact on our staff. Our staff are in a vulnerable position and it is our first priority to keep them surviving and thriving since they are what makes the Curbside experience so incredible.
We are lowering shipping costs on parts and accessories (orders over $50 include free shipping) and our popular Ride Out Of The Box program (where we ship you a bike - even a cargo bike! - completely tuned and ready to ride). This offer is available in-store, but for the sake of social distancing we ask that you consider ordering online first.
Interested in buying some stuff but want to keep your distance? Our staff are standing by the phone and keyboards and ready to answer any and all questions. Finally, to do our part to help flatten the curve, we are following the World Health Organization protocols. That means frequent hand washing, cleaning and disinfecting common touch points across the store and for all shipped items. We expect that if you are coming to visit us that you are in good health and help ensure the safety of our staff. Please do not enter the store if you are feeling sick!
