Best Bike Store in Toronto!!
Posted on 30 October 2008
Editors note: there are some great bike stores in Toronto, many of which we will visit on a day off, but we sure were proud to be recognized as best bike store, particularly for our efforts bringing in what many other shops thought were funny European city bikes.

We must say it was awfully nice to come back from Europe and hear that we won best bike store in Toronto. It was just as nice to hear that we won best bike mechanic as well! Here's what Now Magazine had to say:
If cycling shops want to get more drivers to downsize from four wheels to two, some open-mindedness on what makes a good bike is in order. Take a lesson from Eric Kamphof and company at Curbside Cycle.
The Annex store's manager doesn't try to steer you to a utilitarian option when you explain that you've always dreamed of coasting on a Pashley cruiser, and he respects that the five-floor walk-up to your apartment makes a fold-up Brompton practical.
Over the summer, Curbside stocked the store windows of shops like Sydney's and Simon Carter with models perfect for fashion followers and men-in-suits. It was smart marketing to a new group of customers who will probably never ride with Critical Mass.
Thanks Now readers!! We're having a blast doing what we're doing, and we're absolutely thrilled that our gamble to inject a bit of European sensibility into Toronto streets is working so well.
