A letter to Duke's Cycle
Posted on 20 February 2008
We at Curbside are rather shaken by the sudden and fiery end of Dukes Cycle, a store that could only be described as a Toronto institution. We will always remember Duke's as our favourite shop for really high end road and mountain bikes - a toy shop for the performance cyclist - and a great place to spend an afternoon. The loss of Dukes is an irreplaceable loss for the entire Toronto cycling community. Duke's was the oldest and perhaps the most prestigious shop in Toronto with legendary service and top drawer technicians. We always admired Dukes, and while we didn't talk to each other much - we both have very different markets - we would often run into each other in our walks of life. We don't know quite what to say to Gary or the staff, but we hope for the return of an even better Duke's and we wish them all the best and our support in the tough times ahead.
Update: We are glad to say these boys are back in business!
